What is SolFest? SolFest is the largest fundraising event for the Solar Living Institute, providing you with the chance to gain a wealth of knowledge through diverse workshops, a variety of environmental organizations and businesses, and networking with your peers and associates. It is also a perfect event to simply kick back relax, socialize, listen to live music, relish organic food, wine, beer and enjoy all the other festivities SolFest has to offer! You’ll go home inspired.
Who’s coming to SolFest? We’ve lined up key speakers such as Rhone Resch, often referred to as “the voice of solar energy”; climate hero Billy Parish of Mosaic, a marketplace for clean energy investing that was recently named one of the world’s 10 most innovative companies; and more to be announced soon.
Who’s playing at SolFest? There will be live music on several stages during the one-day event, headlined by alt-Americana favorites Hot Buttered Rum, innovative acoustic guitarist Alex deGrassi, and the indescribable mixed-tempo dancemaster DJ Dragonfly.
Who is hosting SolFest? The Solar Living Institute – a non-profit organization with the mission to “Promote sustainable living through inspirational environmental education.” The Institute provides workshops in solar training and sustainable living, educational tours for children K-12, offers an intern program to develop skills and allows the opportunity to explore different environmental career paths, and manages the Solar Living Center, a 12-acre renewable energy and sustainable living demonstration site that is visited by 200,000 people annually. All proceeds from SolFest benefit future educational and organizational enhancements of the SLI.
When is SolFest? Saturday, September 6, 2014. Gates open at 10:00 a.m. SolFest programming begins from 11:00 a.m. to midnight.
